Hassenfratz Podiatry is pleased to offer you the following services:
Athletic Injuries
Why wait at an emergency room for a lower extremity injury to your foot or ankle. Our physicians are trained in foot and ankle trauma. We have onsite x-ray capabilities and are able to review the x-rays and initiate treatment immediately.
Custom Molded Shoes
Individuals who have foot disorders that require special shoes can rely on us for this service. We integrate your gait analysis, x-ray findings, pressure plate analysis, clinical findings and shoe style into a shoe that is functional and aesthetically pleasing to you.
Diabetic Screening and Foot Care
Do you know someone with diabetes? An estimated 18.2 million Americans have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. An additional 5.2 million people have it and do not know. Our doctors can order appropriate tests to make a diagnosis and can refer you to a qualified physician for excellent diabetic care. Circulatory and nerve damage problems caused by diabetes can leave patients with serious foot ulcers, and other conditions that, left untreated, can result in amputation. Diabetics should inspect their feet daily, and have them checked in our office at least once a year.
Diabetic Shoe Program
Diabetic patients run a high risk of developing foot problems that may lead to amputation. Patients typically develop ulcers on the soles of their feet, which if not treated promptly and successfully, can progress to severe infections, gangrene, and possible amputation. Clinicians who treat diabetic foot problems recommend special shoes as part of the “Plan of care” to avert amputations. In sections of the Social Security Act, Congress provides coverage and payment limitations for extra-depth shoes with inserts for individuals with Diabetes with certain requirements.
Evaluation and Treatment of Foot Disorders
Sprains and fractures, bunions and hammertoes, dislocations, dermatological conditions such as fungal toenails, and ulcers are just a few of the conditions we evaluate and treat.
Gait Analysis
Irregular shoe wear, in-toe or out-toeing, bowlegged, or a knock kneed presentation are some of the conditions we that we evaluate during our gait analysis. Our physicians will watch you walk to evaluate your current condition. Often times custom molded orthotics or bracing will be needed to help correct these conditions. Reconstructive Foot Surgery
Bunions and hammertoes, flat-foot deformities, and heel pain are the most common foot deformities that we are requested to correct. These surgeries are done in an out patient setting at either St. Joseph’s Hospital or The Center for Ambulatory Surgery. Visit our animations to view these surgeries, so that you may get a better understanding of how these procedures are performed.
Wound Management
Wounds left untreated can become infected. It is important to be evaluated immediately by our physicians so that they can quickly initiate wound management. If you are unable to follow our wound management program we are able to provide home nursing care for you.
Pharmacy
Southtowns Medical Pharmacy and Southgate Medical Pharmacy are not part of our practice, but they are onsite at two of our facilities. Our West Seneca location has a pharmacy connected to our facilities, making your visit to this location convenient and efficient.
Physical Therapy
The West Seneca location has an onsite physical therapy department. The physical therapy group is not part of our group, but it offers the ability for you to have your condition treated in our facility by highly qualified physical therapists.
Podopediatrics
We have a good relationship with many pediatric physicians in our area. We will work with your pediatrician to ensure the best continuity of care for your child. Conditions that we commonly treat include gait abnormalities, dermatological conditions, fractures and sprains.
Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) is the newest form of treatment for recalcitrant heel pain/plantar fasciitis. This is a noninvasive form of treatment that can be done at our office. Click here to view a Flash movie illustrating how Shochwave Therapy works.
X-rays for Foot and Ankle Injuries
All three of our offices have onsite x-ray capabilities. No need to travel to another location to have x-rays taken and read. We have the capability to read these x-rays with you immediately so that you have a more illustrative view of your condition.
